Where Am I Going? What Am I Doing?

Trying to fit back into the swing of life. Trying to adjust to being back. She dances beside her god daughter and notices the way she reacts to her presence now, Suyuan's face showing her own inner turmoil. She didn't want to tell her what she had to but the girl just needed to hear it and the truth is all she can spout, regardless how terrible it makes her feel or the others.

Side to side, they danced before finally Suyuan asked to be let go. Withdrawing from her cold touch. Nerissa looks at her and finally jerks her arm away, entire body turning away. "Fine then....do what ya want.." Her mouth almost continued to say 'what you always do' but she ends up sighing and stops dancing, Nerissa turning to go. "I got things to do. I've neglected my duties anyways."

So much has been on her mind, Neri didn't know what to think or do. She's noticed a woman following her a few days back and today she spotted her inside Haven, watching them. Something about her gave her a de ja vu kind of feeling but the woman didn't look familiar to her one iota. So she just cleared out of the bar post haste, heading back towards the shop with a heavy heart, wrapped up in her misery, trying her best to hide the worst of it from others' eyes.

Now, sitting on the Voodoo Shoppe's stoop, Neri watches the streets with a detachment. Hearing the scuttle and scrapping of something moving around before the doll suddenly drops into her lap. She looks to it and wraps her arms around the doll with a sigh, topping her chin on the dark hair. The sudden appearance of Calleigh made her jump and the doll suddenly disappears from her lap as fast as she'd appeared, thankfully more silent. They talk but she can't keep her thoughts straight. So many things running through and making it hard to concentrate.

Her thoughts traces back towards the woman again. She knows she's never seen her. The dark hair, the ivory skin. To her, there seemed to be some years on the woman. She could see the crows feet but the face looked young and full. Lot older to the eye then Omega herself. She doesn't remember seeing many really old people in appearance. Though, of late, she had seen a few really old looking individuals in the city. Tourists most likely. They get them alot. But this woman has been around a lot she thinks.

She'd been thinking hard then something comes to mind. She saw something on her belt loop and blinks. It dawned on her. The woman had the same badge she'd seen on Tazai and Denny both! So, that must of made her an Omegan...maybe she's just like them. Trying to figure the demon out or something.

Its just the way that she looked at her...maybe its time to do some snooping her own. Find out why this weird portly woman is so interested in her.

"Nerissa," Joah asked softly, "What happened to you the other night? Your hands...were bloody."

Nerissa sighed and shook her head as she cast down her pale blue eyes. She rubbed her head, looking ever more as she had the day of her death. "Hunting...I went hunting.."

"Hunting for what, Neri?"

"It doesn't matter." Nerissa frowned slightly and turned to look at Joah suddenly. "I'm a monster. Its what I do." Her eyes helds so many emotions, troubled to the point she had begun to withdraw from everyone. "Denny shoulda woke me up..shouldn't of let me sleep here."

"Denenthorn, despite his apparent grumpiness, has a large heart. And you are always welcome here, Neri."

"All are welcome here," Rhaven agreed. "Well...most." She looked pointedly at Joah.

Joah's gaze momentarily flicked over to Rhaven, raising one eyebrow, then turning back to the demon in front of her. "Neri, would you mind joining us at the fire?" Joah asked. "I'd like to talk to you about something."

"I don't belong anywhere, Joah. Certainly not here anymore." Neri began to step towards the door. "Not even the coven...And why would I wanna talk to someone that looks like Joah and everyone says is not...I can't trust anyone. Not even those I loved."

"I am Joah, Neri. And I think I've met your mother."

Neri laid one hand on the old oaken library door, talons suddenly embedding into wood. She growled and looked over her shoulder, "My mother is dead," she spat. "Keep yer lies to yerself. I gotta go. I have stuff needin' done."
