Frozen Tears

The doll pushed and tugged at her, whimpers coming as it tried to get her to rise off the floor. The demon lied there on her belly, stretched out, tears flowing down her cheeks to become frozen. She cried and couldn't stop. Always her mind would move to one face and the hollowness inside her would clench up, feeling empty anymore. Around her were torn photographs and drawings, shredded beyond recognition. The doll tried in vain to get her to move. Tried to get her to stop crying. Tried to get a smile to her painted lips but the demon neither moved nor stirred but a blink ever so often as she stared off blindly. The pale blue eye glazed over and glistening from the tears spilling down the inside of her eye and dripping from the bridge of her nose to the cold floor under her body.

After a bit, the doll gives up and drops down beside her head, small fingers petting over her head. Nerissa never responded. Never made a sound. Never breathed as there was no ice that coated the floor under her face. The pale face held nothing but sorrow, the eye lost and filled with sadness, loneliness. How can one be happy when one only pined away for the one they wanted. How long must one wait for their attention and watch everyone else get what she desired.

The demon took one shuddering breath and closed her eye lids, hiding the pain and emptiness further inside her. Withdrawing into a shell.
